For my Data Visualization course final project, I gathered and synthesized public New York City data on rising rideshare use and declining taxi and subway ridership.
Magazine design: Cover and feature concept
Inspired by my interest in urban policy and public transit, I created this magazine cover and feature concept for a Media Design course.
This summer, I took the initiative to learn JavaScript and Observable. I combed through NYC public data on recycling and began an ongoing project investigating the recycling rates throughout the city.
When I learned that researchers on my own campus received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, I jumped at the opportunity to visit the lab myself. I talked to the Lucks team about their biotech platform, which will empower low-income farmers to detect crop disease on-the-go.
Campus news podcast: The Weekly
As audio desk editor at the award-winning student newspaper The Daily Northwestern, I wrote, reported and produced a weekly podcast on campus culture. I worked with my peers to push the boundaries of campus media and consistently create a high quality podcast. The Weekly earned a second-place 2017 College Media Association Pinnacle Award.
